There are approximately 7,000 languages in use today around the world.
About 600 of the groups who use those languages have their own complete Bible.
There are more than 1,600 languages that still have no Scripture–and no translation project begun yet.
God’s Word has been given to many, but this means that there are still about
160 million people waiting for their first verse of Scripture.
The good news is: these numbers are not static. They continue to change, as God continues to work–moving people to give, pray, and go.
In the strength of the God who equips us, we’re working to give the Word to those who don't have it yet.
If you’re reading this, it’s likely that your heart language is English–about 600 years ago, your first English Bible was translated for you. Praise God!
We have been given an incredible gift. And the question really is, how are we going to respond to that?
I'm Stephanie. When it comes to giving the Word, I'm in because I know that the Bible is what we need. It's what we need because it leads us into relationship with God–and He is Who we need.
I'm so grateful that you & I have the opportunity to know God through His Word (through the Scriptures that've been given to us in our own language). When faced with the numbers above–the need for Bible translation still existing around the world–I can't help but ask myself, "What am I doing with what I've been given?" I'm eager to take part in giving the Word to those who don't have it yet, because of the way God has used the Word to bring me in closer to Him.
Giving the Word has become something that I "can't not" do.
Can you "can't not" give the Word, too? ;)

Yay for learning about Bible translation while eating popcorn!
We need the Lord! Let's ask Him to keep blessing the work that He's doing around the world.
Sign up to adopt your very own Bibleless people group–
you'll receive specific prayer needs & facts about your group as you ask God to bring His Word to them.
Yay for loving others through prayer!

"For it is the God who commanded light
to shine out of darkness,
who has shone in our hearts
to give the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God
in the face of Jesus Christ."
